School Nurse

JOB DESCRIPTION
The school nurse provides health services to strengthen and facilitate the education process by modifying
or removing health-related barriers to learning in the individual students. Promotes an optimal level of
wellness of students and staff by providing preventative health services to facilitate the students and
staff’s optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development.
SALARY RANGE
Starting at $37,807.00
● New employees receive credit for previous FULL years of verified experience in appropriate
experience related to the area in which they will work.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position works 7.75 hours per day, Monday - Friday following the school
calendar and including scheduled professional development days.
BENEFITS: School nurses at Perry County School District 32 receive the following benefits:
● The district pays up to $650.00 per month for the employee’s medical insurance, which begins on
the first day of the month following the official employment date. Vision, dental, and life insurance
are optional and at employee expense.
● District-paid $10,000.00 life insurance policy.
● Paid leave: 8 sick days and unused sick leave will be cumulative to 180 days, with a maximum
carryover of 172 days; 4 personal days that do not carryover, but are added to the annual sick
leave and then qualify for accumulation.
● Excellent retirement package, with District-matched 6.86% contribution to PEERS.
