Position Overview:

Perry County Newspapers, publisher of the Perry County Republic-Monitor, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the competitive newspaper industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing effective sales strategies, and managing a team of advertising sales representatives. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients while ensuring the achievement of sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of advertising sales representatives to perform at their best.
  • Set individual and team sales goals, providing coaching and performance feedback regularly.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, focusing on long-term partnerships.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the client base, including local and regional advertisers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure mutual benefit for both the company and clients.
  • Advertising Strategy:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and present tailored advertising solutions across print and digital platforms.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitors to offer innovative solutions that meet client needs.
  • Revenue Growth:
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance data, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to increase advertising revenue and profitability.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in advertising sales, preferably in the newspaper or media industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a sales team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and create strategic sales plans.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
